Let's get fired up for the new year! The economy is definitely swinging back in the right direction. I know people have been building and tweaking toys this winter. The races in the last few weeks have shown strong entry numbers. Head on over to the forums and get the action rolling!

Fixed Forum Spam

I know the spam got out of control on the forums. Sorry about that, should be all cleaned up now. I also upgraded the forums to prevent more spam. The first race of the year was a great hit! Thanks to Jim with MORE, with a total of 8 cars signed up, what a start to the season. Unfortunately, two of the cars were not able to start, but I am sure we will see them next race. With the MORE Posted Results! Congratulations to Nicole Garavito for a well deserved win!

TSCO Vegas 2 Reno - 2008

Congrats to team 5011 for the win! Looking at the times, that sounds like a long day!

Car 5024 couldn't make the start line due to fuel injection problems. Eric rushed to get the new motor in the car the night before tech, but changed the crank position sensor and the timing portion of the Redline fuel injection was not working properly. The team spent all afternoon working on the car as I sat in the passenger seat with a laptop hooked up to try and diagnose and fix the problem. Basically, the timing was not retarding under full load or as RPM rose, which created a dangerous situation where we might lose a fresh motor, most likely in the silt beds 10 miles from the starting line. We all decided to not even start the race, and get the car on a dyno to do things right. But we sure did have a hell of a night out on the town!

Hello Everyone,

First off the Class 5 Coalition would like to congratulate Jim Varshay and Allen
Nimmo for there Points championship win. Also we would like to thank our largest
sponsor this season, Kartek for sponsoring the 5000.00 for the 2007 season. Also
thanks to the Krepsz brothers for 1000.00 to winner of the Vegas to Reno Race. Jim,
Allen well deserved 2008 Coalition Win.....

Allen Nimmo from Extreme Performance has offered his shop for a season end party.
We will be sending out info on this shortly. At this event we would like to set in stone a 2008 season.
Knowing that the holidays are busy and we getting everyone together is tough.. Thanks Allen for your hospitality.
Great to have the support for the coalition..

OK guys let us know what your thinking for next year 2008 !!! I have talked to
a few of you and need info on where you want to race. We had a rough start lets
get things in gear for 2008. We had a hard time obtaining sponsors due to our number
of entries in each race. Please e mail me back of races you want to do or sanctioning
bodies you want to race with.

The mailing for the TSCO "Vegas to Reno" event will be going out by June 29th! (If you have already sent in your entry form you can obviously disregard the entry form you will receive in the mail. There is also an entry form on our site, you can download that entry form and send it in with a $200 deposit.) Also, the entry form for the Pre-Fun Run will be on the web site, please fill out the pre-run form and send that in to the office by August 1st with your entry form. We must have a lunch and dinner count, and please spell out all of your participants names so we can read them, we need all names on the poker run sheets.

Also, the Best In The Desert office will be closed from June 30th through July 17th, we're on summer break, yea!

We can help you with your TSCO "Vegas to Reno" questions on the 17th! Also, the information letter and pre-fun run information will be on the web site. The Pit Support Book will be available at the pre-run or sent out with the "FIP" Final Information Packet on August 9th, at the time of the Draw for Start Positions. Please get your entry forms in by August 9th!
